Our doctors are up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques to make your visit as comfortable and effective as possible.
Dr. Pierce graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1983. Upon graduation, he received the Canadian Contact Lens Society Award and still enjoys providing high quality contact lens care to our patients. He associated for a year before buying the Erb Street practice from Dr. Murray Munn. Dr. Pierce enjoys keeping up to date on all the latest technology to make sure our patients get the best possible eye care. Our OPTOMAP machine was one of the first in Ontario thanks to the foresight of Dr. Pierce. Bruce enjoys many sports especially golfing and would be happy to discuss how certain kinds of sunglasses can enhance your sports vision and may even improve your score! Dr. Pierce and Dr. Ellison have two sons and live in Waterloo.
Dr. Ellison graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1988. She practiced in Guelph until 1994, when she joined her husband, Dr. Bruce Pierce in Waterloo. Dr. Ellison enjoys the wonderful diversity in the practice with patients of all ages and from all parts of the world. She especially enjoys examining children's eyes. Children's exams always start with a ride in the chair, pictures (if they aren't quite ready for the letters) and the special magic 3-D glasses to check depth perception. Dr. Ellison has cared for many children from their first exam at their third birthday until they bring in children of their own. The new OPTOMAP retinal exam works amazingly well to capture a 200 degree wide digital retinal photo in less than a second- great for wiggly little ones! Dr. Ellison and Dr. Pierce live in Waterloo with their two sons.
Dr. Jennifer Clayfield graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1989. Following graduation she practiced in Nova Scotia, Brantford, St Mary's and Stratford. She joined Drs. Pierce and Ellison in 1999.
Dr. Clayfield grew up in Waterloo only a few blocks from our office location. She enjoys the opportunity to catch up with neighbours and family friends that practicing in the old neighbourhood provides.
Dr. Clayfield has recently moved into a historic house in downtown Preston with her daughter and husband.
